Rebecca Gaskin Gain is an international finance and legal professional with more than three decades of experience in emerging economies, including 25 years in Africa. She serves as an independent non-executive director of Zimbabwe’s largest financial institution. Moreover, Rebecca Gaskin Gain serves on a board supporting the organization’s transformation strategy to strengthen its corporate finance and investment banking services.

Previously, Rebecca Gain served as a corporate advisor, working with organizations such as Fides Microfinance Senegal and FPM SA. Her earlier career included senior roles with Standard Bank in the United Kingdom and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as well as advisory assignments on privatization, infrastructure, mining, and financial services. She has worked in more than a dozen countries, including Kenya, Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa, Albania, and Kosovo.

Academically, Rebecca Gain earned a JD from Emory University School of Law and a BA in history, completed with honors, from Wake Forest University. She has also studied corporate finance and Islamic finance and speaks English and French fluently, with familiarity in Italian, Czech, and Arabic. In 2013, Rebecca Gain received the National Order of Civic Merit, a Presidential Gold Medal from the DRC. She also served on UN-Habitat’s consultative board, reviewing proposals and project implementation presentations for slum upgrading.
